dotRequirements vary according to the region and specific job that you would like to perform. In most cases, a bachelor's degree is not required. But an extended apprenticeship is.

Avalanche technician Karl Birkeland says any degree "in the fields of geography, geology, meteorology or civil engineering [is] helpful. It also helps to have as much science as possible."
