dotAs globalization becomes a reality, the need for protocol will continue in both government, private companies and in the military.

"Most every base will have a protocol office with a minimum of two employees," says Oriella Goff. Goff is a deputy chief of protocol at a U.S. military installation in Italy. "The bigger the base, the more employees."

dotProtocol officers working at different levels of government or in the military earn different salaries. In the military, protocol officers receive salaries according to their rank, says Goff.
